How Our Drawings Work

Speed Junkies does not select its own winners. Grand-prize drawings are conducted by American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co., Inc., an independent sweepstakes administration firm based in Rochester, New York. We are the sponsor. They run the drawing and verify the winner.

Why that separation matters

The most common structural weakness in a car giveaway is a company drawing its own winner with no outside party involved. There's no way for an entrant to verify anything about that process.

Using a professional administrator changes the incentive structure. The administrator handles prize bonding and insurance, compliance with state registration requirements, the random selection itself, and verification of the winner's eligibility. Their business depends on running promotions correctly.

The process, step by step

  1. Rules published first. Official rules go live before entries open, stating the sponsor's legal name, prize and approximate retail value, eligibility, entry methods, the odds statement, and the drawing date.
  2. Entries collected. Purchase entries, VIP entries, and free mail-in entries all go into the same pool. Mail-in entries carry equal odds — see our free entry page.
  3. Entry period closes at the deadline in the official rules. Mail-in entries must be postmarked and received by the dates stated there.
  4. The administrator conducts the drawing and selects the grand-prize winner at random.
  5. Eligibility is verified. The administrator confirms residency, age, and compliance with the rules. Winners complete an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, and a W-9.
  6. The winner is announced publicly and revealed live on our Instagram, so the announcement is public and time-stamped.
  7. The winner is published on our Past Winners page by name and home state.

What we do and don't control

We choose the car, write the rules with the administrator, and run the promotion. We do not conduct the grand-prize drawing, do not select the winner, and cannot influence the outcome.

Some smaller secondary prizes may be drawn by us directly rather than by the administrator. Where that's the case, the official rules for that promotion say so explicitly. We'd rather state that plainly than imply every drawing is externally administered.

How to verify any of this

Read the official rules for the giveaway you're entering. The sponsor and administrator are named in full, with addresses. Then check our published winners against the announcement videos.
